Obama's Union Dues

On Friday, the Teleprompter In Chief slapped additional taxes on tire imports from China. WH spokesman Gibbs said the import tax remedies "the clear disruption to the U.S. tire industry" from cheap Chinese tire imports.

The United Steelworkers union filed a petition earlier this year seeking the protection. The Union said the tire imports had cost more than 5,000 U.S. tire worker jobs since 2004. "For far too long, workers across this country have been victimized by bad trade policies and government inaction," United Steelworkers President Leo Gerard said.

Interesting tactic poking the Chinese Dragon when, in essence, they own us. I wonder what happens when they say they won't participate in a bond sale...??? We can not even begin to fix the trade deficit with China when we are in such a mess financially and reliant on the Chinese purchase of our debt.

This is the problem with our corrupt government: special interests dictate policy, both domestic and foreign. Congress has dug America's grave by governing this country under the principle of re-election, first and special interests, second. These stupid and corrupt politicians have run this great country into the ground.

This is union payoff pure and simple. Ask yourself, of all the products we import from China, why tires? Perhaps Obama is softening up the union for the inevitable health care compromise?
